Walking the cross

Bob
Bob Eckert, 60, a pastor at Lighthouse Worship Center located at 9th and Vine streets in Jasper, carried a 100-pound cross about seven miles from Huntingburg to his church in Jasper. This is the fourth year Eckert has made a walk like this. He built the nine-foot cross and it rolls on a set of wheels. He says people usually stop and offer to help carry the cross or give him a ride but he makes the journey without any help. “I do it because of what Jesus did,” he says. “It’s all about Jesus, you know.”
