VUJ hosts 120 Southern Indiana students for STEM Challenge

More than 120 high school students from across Southern Indiana put their skills to the test at Vincennes University Jasper’s 5th annual CTIM (Center for Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing) STEM Challenge. The event brought together ten area high school teams and eight Southern Indiana industry partners for a full day of hands-on competition and career exploration.

Students completed a series of industry-designed challenges involving hands-on engineering, creative problem-solving, design and construction skills, real-world STEM applications, and teamwork.

“The CTIM Challenge is about more than competition. It’s about introducing students to local opportunities,” said Jacob Berg, Director of the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing.

Eight industry partners sponsored and designed the event’s challenges, each presenting first, second, and third place awards for their category. In addition to those company-sponsored recognitions, the overall winners were:

  • 1st Overall: Bryce Memmer, Kale Wissel, Davin Pund, Chase Niehaus (Forest Park)
