Vote center move means voters can vote in anywhere on Election Day
The Dubois County Election Board met on September 27, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., and after discussing feedback received over the past 35 days on the Vote Center Plan, unanimously approved plan for Dubois County voters.
“This is a tremendous step forward for voters, poll workers, and local election administrators,” said Dubois County Clerk Amy Kippenbrock.
Moving forward, Dubois County registered voters may now vote at any open Election Day location in Dubois County.
For Presidential and Midterm Elections, the plan would include election day sites at Jasper Middle School, Thyen-Clark Cultural Center in Jasper, St. Mary’s Community Center in Ireland, the Huntingburg Event Center, Holland United Methodist Church, Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand, Celestine Community Center, St. Anthony Community Center, and Dubois Ruritan Park (Dubois).
In addition, early voting sites would be hosted at the Courthouse Annex, Tri-County YMCA, Huntingburg Event Center, and the 35th Street Fire Station in Jasper for 28 days prior to Election Day.
Roaming Board Sites would be set up the week before the election from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Monday the board will be at St. Henry CK of A; Tuesday at the Haysville Fire Station; Wednesday at the Schnellville Fire Station; Thursday at the Dubois Library; and Friday at the Birdseye Fire Station.
