Virlee T. Rasche, 63, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Virlee was born on September 14, 1951 in Celestine Indiana to Carl and Marie (Schneider) Hasenour.

She married Albert V. Rasche on February 16, 1974 at St. Celestine Church in Celestine.

Virlee worked for WalMart in Jasper, Indiana for the past 17 years. Previously she had worked for the Jasper Holiday Inn, the Energy Plus Convenience Store in Huntingburg, the Jasper Knights of Columbus, and Stens Corporation.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Ind., and Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella.

She was a member of the Dubois High School Class of 1971. She was also a member of the Huntingburg and Jasper Senior Centers, the VFW Post #673 Ladies Auxiliary, and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.

She enjoyed word search books, playing Bingo, and cards.

She is survived by her husband, Albert V. Rasche of Jasper; a daughter, Donna Mehringer and her husband Joseph “Joe”; three sisters, Anna Mae Lampert of Celestine, Betty Stapleton and her husband, Marvin, of Duff, and Laverne Mosier of Ireland; one brother, Ron L. Hasenour and his wife, Jan, of Celestine.

Preceding her in death was her parents, Carl and Marie Hasenour , and two sisters, Bernice Kluemper and Rosa Lee “Rosie” Hasenour.

Funeral services for Virlee T. Rasche will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The Jasper D of I and St. Mary’s Church will pray a rosary at 1:45pm. The VFW Post #673 Ladies Auxiliary will perform a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
