Virlee C. Burger, 88, Ferdinand

Virlee C. Burger, 88, of Ferdinand died Monday, March 13, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

She was born in Ferdinand to John & Isabelle (Altmeyer) Schreiner. She married Bob Burger Sr. on April 20, 1948, in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Virlee was a lifelong member of Saint Ferdinand Parish and it’s Saint Ann’s Sodality. She retired as a school custodian. She enjoyed playing cards, games and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Bob Burger Sr.; one son Terry (Marla) Burger of Ferdinand; two daughters, Connie (Tom) Lueken and Donna Trafton, both of Ferdinand; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Burger of Ferdinand; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Burger Jr.; a son-in-law, Gary Trafton; a great-grandson, Abram Burger; and a brother, Hubert Weyerbacher.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 17, in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
