Virginia J. Quade, 83, Jasper

Virginia J. Quade, 83, Jasper, formerly of Logansport, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, Jasper.

She was born in Monticello on April 30, 1933, to the late Elbert V. and Hazel K. (Morgan) Hare. She married Robert L. Quade on Nov. 23, 1953, in St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds. He died July 28, 1995.

Mrs. Quade was employed as a secretary with the Louisville Cement Company in Logansport for 27 years. She was a long-time member of St. James Lutheran Church in Logansport. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. She belonged to the Doll Club, Ornament Club and Cass County Extension Homemakers. She loved visiting Minnesota. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are one son, Larry (Debra) Quade of Jasper; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Quade; a brother, Gordon Hare; and her twin sister, Barbara Murray.

A celebration of life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. James Lutheran Church in Logansport. Pastor K.C. Dehning will officiate. Burial will be held in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Reynolds.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
