Viola S. “Olie” Hulsman, 93

Viola S. “Olie” Hulsman, age 93, of Saint Anthony, Indiana passed away at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, in the Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand, Indiana.

She was born October 26,1920 at Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Joseph Geissler and Veronica (Bowe) Geissler.

She married Gregor Hulsman February 5, 1946 at Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1997.

Olie retired from the Saint Anthony Community Center in Saint Anthony where she managed and cooked for 34 years.

She was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church, Christian Mothers Sodality and the Saint Anthony Homemakers Club.

Her hobbies were Pottery, weaving, Crochet, and loved working with arts and crafts.

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Hulsman, Fort Worth, Texas; grandson, Ric Fraire, of Fort Worth, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Erica and Joe; her caregiver, Kathy Tretter and husband Richard, of Ferdinand; sister-in-laws Jeannie Geissler, Minn.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is a son Kevin Hulsman and daughter, Mary Jo Hulsman. Sisters, Rose Tanzar, Evelyn Goulet and Marie Maulworf. Brothers, Bernard, Arnold, Alfred and Robert Geissler.

Funeral services for Viola Hulsman will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, in Saint Anthony Padua Catholic Church with burial to follow in Saint Anthony Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Anthony fire Department, Saint Anthony Catholic Church or to the Dubois County Community Foundation.
