Viola L. Seidl, 88, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Waters of Huntingburg.

Viola was born in Huntingburg on February 3, 1928, to James and Doreatha (Heilers) Schwinghammer.  She married Victor Seidl on September 25, 1947, in St. Henry.

Viola graduated from Holland High School and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and loved to travel the world.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Thompson and husband Steve of Elkhart; three sons, Tom Seidl and wife Carole of Avon, Robert Seidl and wife Kathy of Huntingburg and Larry Seidl and wife Gayla of Flora, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Stidham of Tacoma, Wash.

Viola was proceeded in death by her husband, Victor Seidl, a daughter, Sandy Kaiser (wife of Bill Kaiser), and a son Richard Seidl (husband of Patricia Seidl), brothers, Wilfred (Butch), John, and Alfred, sister, Eleanor, and great-grandson, Gavin Hunter Reese.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Saturday June 4 at 10 AM. Friends may call at the church from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg or your favorite charity.
