Vicky Simmons Staats, 57, Gentryville

Vicky Simmons Staats, 57, passed away at 10:20 p.m.CDT on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at her residence in Gentryville.

Vicky was born July 5, 1958, to Jerry and Gayle (Nelson) Simmons, who have preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Pike Central High School, an alumni of the University of Evansville and a veteran of the United States Army. She worked as a human resources manager for Accent Marketing/Startek. In life, Vicky was an avid reader, a fisherwoman, and comedian. She will be missed and may her soul rest in peace.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Staats of Gentryville; two sons, Joda Staats of Winslow and Kyle Staats of Gentryville; one daughter, Heather Staats of Gentryville; two brothers, Greg Simmons and Nelson Simmons both of Winslow; and two grandchildren, Dax Ayer and Daylen Staats.

Memorial services for Vicky Staats will be held at a later date.  Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
