Veterans set to hold annual Poppy Drive
Dubois County/Jasper VFW Post 673 will be conducting its annual Buddy Poppy donation drive May 3rd through May 10th, 2025.
A simple red flower means so much to so many. Since 1922, the Buddy Poppy has been an integral part of the VFW and Veteran community.
As VFW’s official memorial flower, the poppy represents the blood shed by ALL American service members. The Buddy Poppy is a way to remember all the brave men and women who have selflessly given their all to preserve the freedoms we enjoy every day in America.
It is the red poppy that has also become a way for local VFW Posts throughout the country to raise money to assist their fellow local Veterans. All money raised by our post is used to support our local veterans here in Dubois County in need, and enables us to live by our motto, “Honor the Dead by Helping the Living.”
We hope that you can show your support of our local VFW Post’s efforts this year when you see us at these local collection sites: Jasper Post Office, Jasper Holiday Foods, Jasper Rural King, and Jasper Hometown IGA from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. daily and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Post Office during the drive.
VFW Post 673 would like to thank all our donation sites for their generous access to their places of business each year. We also wish to thank all our other local businesses and private individual donors for their continued support of all our nation’s veterans.
