Veterans invited to special film screening and roundtable discussion

JASPER – The Rotary Club of Jasper – Passport will host a Veteran Roundtable Event featuring a screening of “Eva,” a short film created for veterans by filmmaker Mick Hetman. The event aims to bring together veterans and community members for meaningful dialogue and connection.

The gathering will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:45 PM to 7:30 PM at the Schnitzelbank. This event combines networking opportunities with a special film screening, providing a platform for veterans to share experiences and build relationships within the community.

The film is set in WW2 1944 Bavaria, Germany, and on the home front in the USA. Eva was created to tackle the delicate subject of PTSD realistically and respectfully. Eva has a timeless message of redemption and hope for veterans, their families, and friends.

Mick Hetman, its producer and director, is a graduate of Purdue University, filmmaker, photographer, and game inventor who owns HETMAN DESIGN LLC in Pike County.

“My son Joseph, a US Marine, co-wrote and co-directed the film,” Hetman said. “My reenactor friends collaborated on this labor of love. Eva is for veterans. Servicemember reaction to the film has been very positive so far.”
