Veronica “Fronie” Mehringer, 97

Veronica “Fronie” Mehringer, age 97 of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday (May 22, 2013) at Brookside Village in Jasper, IN.

Veronica was born on January 22, 1916 to Herman J. and Katherine (Schroering) Schroeder. She married Silas Mehringer on June 21, 1938 at St. Celestine Church in Celestine, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1985.

Veronica was a farmer and homemaker.

She was a member of St. Celestine Church, and the St. Celestine St. Ann’s Society.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and family gatherings.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Bernadette Schroering, and six brothers, Joseph, Alois, Edward, Rev. Othmar, Rev. Sylvester, and Jerome Schroeder.

Funeral services for Veronica “Fronie” Mehringer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (May 25, 2013) at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday (May 24, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church. The St. Celestine St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Celestine Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
