Veronica “Fronie” Dilger, 72, of St. Anthony, passed away at 4:55 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Kindred Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

She was born at Ireland on May 25,1945, to Joseph and Gertrude (Beyke) Sermersheim. She married Charles Dilger on June 25, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

Fronie was known for her baking wedding and Birthday cakes. She previously worked for Corbins Drapery and Kimball Electronics in Jasper. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Church where she formerly director of Religious education and Christian Mothers. Also, an avid quilter and embroider.

She is survived by her husband Charlie Dilger; three sons, Mark (Terri) Dilger of Richland, Steve (Heather) Dilger of Jasper and Dave Dilger of Jasper; two grandchildren, Kyla and Kevin Dilger; three sisters, Betty Merkley of Jasper, Sr. Mary Agnes O.S.B. of Ferdinand and Florence (Larry) Ebenkamp of Lansing, Mich.; sister-in-law, Patricia Sermersheim; two brothers,
Martin (Irma) Sermersheim of Jasper and Richard (Carol) Sermersheim of Celestine.

Preceding her in death are one son, Dean Dilger and one brother, Jim Sermersheim.

Funeral services for Veronica “Fronie” Dilger will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2018, in Divine Mercy Parish-St. Anthony Church with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.   Rosary will be prayed at 11:45 a.m. Sunday by Divine Mercy Parish.
