Velpen man arrested for tool theft

A former employee of a construction business was arrested for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 worth of tools from the company.

According to Jasper police, Andrew Trechock, 29, of Velpen, was allegedly attempting to sell tools using Facebook to list them. The tools were similar to ones reported stolen from the business.

Police made contact with Trechock Thursday and after interviewing him, took him into custody on a Level 6 felony count of theft.

    1. Understand your point…have brought stuff like this up but to little/no avail all-too-frequently…like they’re in too much of a hurry to break the story and overlook/omit info. On the other hand, it does say “Jasper police” in one place, so likely that’s the same police who also made the contact, but the where, names, etc. will have to wait.

  1. At the request of the business involved, we will not list their name. The business is a Jasper business.
