Vehicle chase ends with Ford Bronco crashed on railroad tracks in Huntingburg

Huntingburg police arrested Anthony Wayne Allbritton, 18, of 353 E. 7th St. Lot 3, Huntingburg, after being called to a truck driving through a property Monday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to the property at 8th and Van Buren streets at 2:01 p.m. for the report of a Ford Bronco damaging the parking lot and yard there. When officers arrived, they found the Bronco stuck in mud in the yard.
After activating the patrol unit’s emergency lights, the officer attempted to make contact with the driver of the Bronco. The driver, later identified as Allbritton, then drove the Bronco from the yard and headed west on 8th Street to Jackson. The officer pursued the Bronco.
The pursuit proceeded on Jackson Street to 9th Street and when the Bronco turned on Cor De. Lane, Allbritton lost control and went over an embankment onto the railroad tracks adjacent to the road.
Allbritton and a passenger jumped from the Bronco and Allbritton took off running, according to police. Police said Allbritton ran to Van Buren and then doubled back to Cor De Lane where he was apprehended on 7th Street.
The passenger did not run.
Police charged Allbritton with resisting law enforcement with a motor vehicle, criminal recklessness and operating without ever receiving a license. He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and a KARS wrecker assisted with the incident.
