Valeda A. Moeller, 94, Jasper
Valeda A. Moeller, 94, of Jasper, passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at home, surrounded by family.

Valeda was born in Jasper, Indiana, on August 28, 1932, to Henry and Rosetta (Dick) Jahn.
She first married Raymond E. Newton on January 9, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 1967. She then married Bernard “Barney” Moeller on July 7, 2001, and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Previously, she had worked for GE, and she then was a waitress at the Holiday Inn for 25 years. She also did in-home health care for a little over 10 years; she was most passionate about this work and built many relationships during this time.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana; St. Anne’s Society; Jasper D of I; Jasper Moose; and V.F.W. Post #673 Auxiliary.
Valeda enjoyed spending time with her granddogs, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Carla Newton of Greensboro, N.C. and Geri (Ted) Ziegler of Jasper; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Karen Stenftenagel of Jasper; one brother, Jim (Marilyn) Jahn of Jasper; one sister-in-law, Mary Jahn of Jasper; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, besides her husbands, are one daughter, Gail Campbell; one son-in-law, Mike Campbell; twin grandchildren, Jeremy and Melissa Campbell; one brother, Sylvan Jahn; and one brother-in-law, Michael Stenftenagel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Valeda A. Moeller will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass time at the church on Thursday.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Hosparus Health, her personal caregivers, and her neighbors, Scott and Sara Egloff.
