USI hosting traveling replica of Vietnam Veterans Memorial, ‘The Wall That Heals’

The University of Southern Indiana (USI) is honored to host The Wall That Heals October 29 through November 1, 2026. 

The Wall That Heals is free to the public and will be open 24 hours a day. Community tours will be available October 29 and 30 during specific times and with advanced reservations. Community tours can accommodate groups of up to 100 individuals per hour and for an approximately 45-minute guided experience.  

The Wall That Heals honors the 58,281 service members who lost their lives, as well as all who served in defense of our country during the Vietnam War. A traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., the exhibit consists of The Wall That Heals and a mobile Education Center. This three-quarter scale replica is 375 feet long and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point. 

To help the group to plan tours effectively, groups are invited to complete this brief interest survey to indicate your level of interest in scheduling a visit. This is not a formal reservation, but an opportunity to make a formal reservation will come in early September.  

One of the greatest benefits of having The Wall That Heals in our community is the opportunity for education at a level not always possible, even at the Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) staff who accompany the exhibit are trained to engage individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Combined with access to the Memorial and mobile Education Center, this provides a unique opportunity to teach community members about the Vietnam War, the Memorial, and their lasting impact on our nation.
