Upcoming event honors Vietnam veterans and family members with special gift
The Vietnam Veterans Gift Giveaway is returning to Dubois County on Saturday, November 19, at the Family Life Center of Shiloh Church of Jasper, 1971 W. SR 56, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Any Indiana veteran who served during the Vietnam Era (1955 to 1975) is eligible to receive a free gift at the Giveaway. Also eligible to receive the gift is the spouse/immediate family of a deceased veteran; Indiana residency is required. A complimentary lunch will be provided at the event; advance reservations are requested but not necessary.
Consisting of a hardback book, documentary DVD, and bookmark, each gift will be personally presented to the recipient with deep respect and heartfelt thanks for his or her service. All presentations will be photographed.
The Gift Giveaway will be conducted by the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans organization on behalf of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs. Assisting with the event will be members of the Dubois County Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
Any homebound Vietnam veteran unable to attend the Giveaway on November 19 may contact the Dubois County DAR to arrange for delivery and presentation of the gift following the Giveaway event.
