Tony Uebelhor is excited about a couple of things.

He is excited about completing a major upgrade to Uebelhor & Sons Chevrolet-Cadillac dealership on 972 Wernsing Road.

The last major renovation occurred in 1997, but this renovation is clearly an updated look that reflects GM’s contemporary strides back to the forefront as a vehicle manufacturer.

The company hired an architectural firm to develop a new industry-wide consistent look that is designed to create the best possible experience for their customers.

The improvements, completed by local company Jasper Lumber, include a completely new exterior with the Chevrolet Blue Arch as the focal point of the new showroom. The white and blue accents continue throughout the interior of the building resulting in an open and bright look. “The lights don’t look that bright but between the white floor and the reflection on the cars, it looks great,” Uebelhor explains. “The features are absolutely awesome.”

The new upgrades not only accentuate the new models GM and Cadillac are rolling off the line but they are also functional.

In regards to the customer service experience, customers can now drive inside the building in service lanes to discuss service issues out of any inclement weather. “It is a great thing for the customer,” Uebelhor said. “If the customer has a concern they can show us out of the weather and our folks can be very attentive to what it is. Then they can walk directly into the customer waiting area without being exposed to any inclement weather.”

Another new addition is the vehicle delivery area. In the past, sales consultants would have to demonstrate the features and options of the customer’s vehicle purchase in the weather. The new temperature-controlled delivery area allows the delivery of a vehicle to occur without customers contending with the heat, cold, rain or snow.

“We had a Cadillac earlier in the week and the customer wanted to see how the sunroof operated but it was raining,” Uebelhor said. “A sunroof can open several different ways but it’s hard to demonstrate when it’s pouring down rain. Now we can demonstrate all of the features of a vehicle to customers out of the weather.”

Uebelhor is excited about the strides GM is taking in freshening their line of vehicles. “The oldest Cadillac we are going to have on the showroom floor will be the Cadillac XTS. That came out about a year ago. The oldest Chevrolet we are going to have is the Cruze,” Uebelhor explains. “Right now GM has the freshest lineup I have ever seen. The product is there, the quality is awesome, and the designs are beautiful.”

Finally, he is excited about the support his company receives from its employees and the community it serves. “You know the building is great, it’s beautiful, it’s got a lot of great features” he muses, “but why it clicks is because we have a lot of great people here. When we cut the ribbon for the new building there were two of them out there that worked for my grandfather and he died in January 1977. We’ve got a lot of people that have been here a long time and that is what helped build our business.”
