Two vehicle crash claims one life and seriously injures another in Dale

This morning at approximately 9:10 a.m. a two vehicle crash at US 231 and State Road 68 claimed the life of a Dale man and seriously injured another.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a blue 2005 Ford Taurus was traveling westbound on SR 68 at the intersection of US 231.  The driver of the Taurus failed to yield the right of way to a southbound 2005 Peterbuilt, driven by Anthony Suddarth, 48, Franklin, KY.  Suddarth’s semi tractor hit the Ford Taurus in the passenger door.

The passenger of the Taurus was pronounced dead at the scene by the Spencer County Coroner’s Office.  The driver of the Taurus was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of head injuries.  His condition is unknown at this time.  Suddarth was checked by medics on scene and refused treatment.

US 231 at SR 68 is currently still closed as trooper’s investigate the scene. The names of the injured and deceased are not being released at this time pending notification of families.

Drugs and or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash
