Two men were rescued after a boat they were bow fishing from capsized on Huntingburg Lake Wednesday.

Indiana Conservation Officers Tim Kaiser, Zac Howerton, and Tony Mann were dispatched to Huntingburg Lake at about 5:09 p.m. for the report of the capsized boat.

Two bow fishermen (names were withheld by authorities) were on south side of the lake approximately 150 yds from shore when they noticed their boat was starting to capsize. The two bow fishermen were wearing life jackets and stayed with their boat until help arrived.

Officer Kaiser and Officer Howerton launched a boat and picked up the two bow fisherman from Scott Kendall, who knew of the situation and had assisted the fishermen prior to the officers’ arrival.

The bow fishermen did not suffer any injuries from the accident. The cause of the boat to capsize is still undetermined.

Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage the use of life jackets while enjoying any activity out on the water.
