Two killed, four critically injured in Pike County crash

Friends and family members are seeking help from the public as they grapple with four critically injured juveniles and the death of a mother and her daughter in a crash that occurred Saturday evening.

Indiana State Police announced the closure of State Road 64 at near County Road 1000 at about 8:43 p.m. CST due to the crash involving two passenger vehicles.

Details of the crash have not been released as of this time however, through social media, family and friends have shared fundraising pages to support the recovery of those injured in the crash.

Through these posts, the identies of the deceased, Amanda Wertman and her 8-year-old daughter Michaela, were released along with a plea to support her husband and son, Theodore. Indiana State Police crash reconstruction investigators are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
