Two charged with dealing heroin, methamphetamine
Two Jasper residents were charged with dealing heroin and methamphetamines after the Jasper K-9 officer served a warrant on a man wanted out of Floyd County.

The K-9 officer was patrolling the 1400 block of Dewey Street at about 12:20 p.m. Monday when he saw Travis R. Jones, 27, sitting in a Nissan passenger car parked on the east side of the street. The officer recognized Jones was wanted on a warrant out of Floyd County for possession of a syringe.
During the arrest, the officer allegedly smelled marijuana in the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, a female, identified as Tarah L. Morey, 28, approached and demanded to get a purse and other items out of the car, police said. This was not allowed and during the search, the officer allegedly located multiple individual bags of brownish powder and a crystalline substance as well as syringes, paraphernalia and scales. The substances field tested positive for heroin and methamphetamine.
Police allege the baggies of brownish powder that field tested positive for heroin were a half gram to one gram in weight. The crystalline powder that tested positive for methamphetamine weighed from half a gram to two and a half grams.
Jones and Morey were charged with Level 4 felony counts of dealing heroin and dealing meth; Level 6 felony counts of possessing heroin, possessing meth, possessing syringe and maintaining a common nuisance; and a misdemeanorĀ count of possession of paraphernalia.
The two were booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
