Two Birdseye residents arrested after overnight burglary

Two people were arrested Tuesday after an overnight burglary in Birdseye.

Dubois County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Kings Road at about 6:30 a.m. for the report of the burglary.

After they arrived, deputies determined that the suspects had forced entry through the front door to the residence. During the investigation, deputies were able to identify two potential suspects.

Deputies located the suspects, Joey M. Harger of 9858 W. State Road 64 and Autumn N. Deich of 501 S. State Road 145, in Crawford County and after questioning, arrested them for the burglary.

Authorities charged Harger with a Level 4 felony count of burglary and a misdemeanor count of theft. Deich was charged with a Level 4 felony count of aiding burglary and a misdemeanor count of aiding theft.

Harger was also arrested on two Dubois County Superior Court warrants for failure to appear on a petition to revoke hearing and a writ of attachment.

According to the detective sgt., all the property from the burglary was recovered and returned to the owner.
