Town of Ferdinand announcement

From the Town of Ferdinand:

Until the snow begins to wane (current estimates are 12 p.m. EST), Town of Ferdinand Street Department employees will be spreading salt, concentrating mostly on intersections.  This enables vehicles coming into an intersection to track it out.  Once the storm appears to have mostly passed, the Street Department crew and other Town staff will clear the streets.

Residents can help in two significant ways:

1.)  if you don’t have to be on the roads, please stay home as less traffic allows the crews to better perform their jobs;

2.) if you have a vehicle parked along any town street, please move it to a driveway as this will allow crews to do a more thorough and complete job removing the snow.

Additionally, Town employees will be picking up residential trash today.  As expected due to the weather and roadway conditions, the route might take longer than normal.  If necessary, the route will be finished on Thursday morning.  Patience is appreciated.
