Tony Douglas Gray, 69, Huntingburg
Tony Douglas Gray, 69, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away on October 13, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 5, 1957, in Clarksville, Tennessee, Tony was the son of Orman and Neva Ruth (Mathis) Gray.
He earned his master’s degree in geology from Auburn University and applied his vast knowledge across several careers throughout his life. Tony was ordained in the Lutheran Church and devoted much of his life to serving others through ministry. Most recently, he worked as a chaplain at Branchville Correctional Facility and volunteered as a chaplain at the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, providing comfort, guidance, and compassionate care to those facing difficult circumstances.
Above all else, Tony was a family man. His selflessness was the hallmark of his life. He instinctively put the needs, comfort, and happiness of others before his own. Nothing brought him greater joy or deeper pride than watching his children grow, thrive, and chart their own courses in life. Tony found deep comfort in the simple beauty of everyday moments. He loved nothing more than sitting on his patio, quietly watching the deer roam through the woods, taking in the peace of the outdoors.
His heart also looked to the skies, holding a deep passion and admiration for aviation. Tony earned his private pilot’s license in February 2025. He found great joy and freedom in the skies, flying his Cessna.
He leaves behind a legacy of selfless love, quiet strength, and cherished memories that will remain with his family and friends forever.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Donna; daughter, Emily Gray (Ben Cole); son, Tyler Gray (Olivia Robertson); grandsons, Owen Rinker and Rory Cole; brother, Bruce Gray; sister, Connie Hutson; and aunts, Frances Settle and Judy Mathis Day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association in Tony’s memory.
