Three vehicle traffic accident on 231 and 30th Street in Jasper

On Monday at 4:55 p.m. three vehicles were involved in an accident at the intersection of U.S. 231 and 30th Street in Jasper.

Gregory Hopkins (Toyota Avalon), Todd Hentrup (Buick Century), and Deborah Saling (Jeep Grand Cherokee) were traveling north on 231. Hentrup and Saling stopped for a red light at the intersection with 30th Street, but Hopkins was unable to slow down before striking Hentrup’s vehicle and pushing his vehicle into the rear of Saling’s vehicle.

Hopkins stated he thought the light had changed to green and did not slow down in time.

Hopkins was cited for “speed too fast to avoid a collision”.
