Three Dubois County Girl Scout volunteers receive national recognition

Three Dubois County Girl Scout volunteers earned national recognition on April 18.

Sarah Leinenbach, Kim Mehringer, and Melissa Ruschau received the Volunteer of Excellence Award, which recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls, or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.

The Girl Scouts of the USA Adult Awards are a way to formally recognize the contributions of volunteers whose service has been exemplary. Award recipients are nominated by their peers, reviewed and endorsed by a council committee of staff and volunteers, and approved by the Girl Scouts of Southwest Indiana Board of Directors.

The contributions of all adult Girl Scout members make Girl Scouting possible for the approximately 5,000 Girl Scouts GSSI serves in its 11-county council area.
