Thomas Streicher, 73

Thomas Streicher, 73, of Ferdinand, passed away Saturday July 6, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Facility in Jasper.

He was born September 28, 1939 to Earl and Harriet (Harris) Streicher in Jasper.

Thomas married Rita A. Pund on May 2, 1964 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Thomas Retired from Masterbrand Cabinets as a Superintendent in March of 2004 after 37 years of employment. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, serving from 1958-1961. Thomas was also a member of the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124, Ferdinand Community Center, St. Ferdinand Parish and a former member of the Jaycee’s. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards.

Thomas is survived his wife Rita of Ferdinand; two Daughters, Shari McCain and husband Gary of Huntingburg and Melanie Lange and husband Jonathan of Ferdinand, a son Kurt Streicher of Ferdinand; two sisters, Mrs. Urban (Barbara) Blessinger of Huntingburg and Mrs. Kenneth (Janice) Burger of Jasper; four grandchildren, Matthew Powers, Dalton Streicher, Gavin and Caden Lange. Thomas was preceded in death by a brother in infancy.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. EST and from 7-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catholic Church. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery with Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 providing military graveside rights. Condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
