Thomas J. Buchta, age 63 of Jasper, passed away at 8:17 a.m., Sunday (September 9, 2012) at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born August 6, 1949 in Jasper, Indiana to John R. and Dorothy (Prechtel) Buchta. He married Kate VanHuysse on March 10, 1984 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
He was a member of the Jasper High School Class of 1967. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, and the American Legion Post #147.
He was a self- employed auto broker for over 40 years, and he served in the Army National Guard.
He was an avid NASCAR, Indiana University Basketball, and Indianapolis Colts football fan. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Funeral services for Thomas J. Buchta will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (September 15, 2012) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. American Legion Post #147 will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday (September 14, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Memorial Hospital Foundation, Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or a favorite local charity.
