Thomas D. Knoll, 62

Thomas D. Knoll, age 62, of Huntingburg, Indiana passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at I.U. Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Tom was born in LaPorte, Indiana on May 18, 1951 to Donald and Barbara (Paul) Knoll. He married Lula Rasche on May 5, 1973 Oakland City, Indiana.
He was a member of the La Lumiere High School class of 1969 and then graduated from Purdue University in 1973, with a degree in Aviation Maintenance.
He worked as an Aviation Instructor at the Vincennes University Aviation Technology Center in Indianapolis.
He was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg, and the Huntingburg Flight Club.
He enjoyed aviation and had received his pilot’s license at 16 years of age. He was an avid gun collector and also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lula Knoll, of Huntingburg; one daughter, Barb Knoll, and her husband Brian Mox, of Delaware, Ohio; two sons, Charles Donald Knoll, and his wife Carla, of Oakland City, and Barnaby James Knoll, of Ithaca, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Shelby and Cody Georges, Savannah Matthews, Timothy and Charlotte Knoll, and Jacy Mox; one sister, Donna Snyder, of Naperville, Ill.
Funeral services for Thomas D. Knoll will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow in Ashby Cemetery in Winslow. Rev. Leslie Coomer will officiate.
Friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (February 19, 2014) at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
