Theodore W. (Bill) Werne, 93, Sun City, Ariz.
Theodore W. (Bill) Werne, 93, of Sun City, Ariz., passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 13, 2023, at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, Ariz.

He was born in Ferdinand on April 29. 1930, the son of Ray and Dorothy (Dotterweich) Werne.
He married Betty Harpenau on June 6, 1953. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2007.
Bill served as a colonel in the U.S. Army from January 8, 1952, to January 1954. Bill owned a drywall business and was a real estate developer in Lexington, KY and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl areas. After his retirement, he lived in Colorado for several years before Moving to the Phoenix, Ariz. area.
In addition to his wife, Betty, Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Phyllis Sermersheim; two brothers, Allen and Don Werne; two sons-in-law, Don Abrams and Blaine Singleton; two brothers-in-law, Jack Boeglin and John Sermersheim.
Bill is survived by six daughters, Jackie (Tony) Sylvester, Becky (Tim) Sylvester and Jeanine Singleton of Lexington, Tammy (Chris) Styga of Huntsville, Ala., Nanette Abrams of Georgetown Ky., and Kim (Jim) Boyle of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Bill (Jane) Werne of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Doug (Stephanie) Werne of Nicholasville, Ky. and Kent (Susan) Werne of Boynton Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Elaine (John) Bettag of Mariah Hill and Dolores Boeglin of Ferdinand; two sisters-in-law, Doris Werne of Ferdinand, IN and Rita Werne of Orlando, Fla.; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington, Ky., followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Visitation will be from 10:00 until the 12:00 service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
