Theodore (Ted) R. Foster, 82, Winslow

Theodore (Ted) R. Foster, 82, of Winslow, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Ted was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. 

He retired from OFS in Huntingburg in 2006. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968 and was discharged as a Specialist E4 with the 1st Infantry Division Big Red One. 

He loved fishing, working and tinkering in the garage, and occasional trips to the casino. He will be missed by all who called him friend, father, and grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis (Haynes) Foster; parents, Annabell and Arthur Foster; sister, Mettie Rhodes; eight brothers, Raymond Arthur Foster, Isaac “Ike” Foster, James E. Foster, Gary K. (Carol) Foster, Gene Foster, Charles Foster, Dan Foster and Jack Foster.

Ted is survived by his son, David (Winnie) Foster of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Abbi (Tanner) Brooks of Evansville, Jacob (Amber) Foster of Princeton, and Samuel Theising and Isaac Theising, both of Petersburg; great-grandchild, Benjamin Asa Brooks of Evansville; three sisters, Sharon Smith (Leon Speth) of Vincennes, Suzanne Tapley of Vincennes, and Sandy Greentree of Bicknell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at O.D. Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, Indiana, with burial to follow at Ashby Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
