The Very Big Show returns for second Give Where You Live fundraiser, October 26

The Jasper Arts Center will showcase an array of local talent in The Very Big Show (of Support) as part of the community-wide GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE! fundraising campaign on Friday, October 26th .

Take part in this family-friendly performance that will conclude a day filled with great events, activities, and opportunities to support arts and literacy initiatives in our community. All of the proceeds from this event will benefit programming at the Jasper Public Library, stage equipment for Jasper Community Arts, and ongoing facility and programming needs at the Astra Theatre.

The public is invited to enjoy performances by the following groups and individuals.

Bob Ahlemeier, veteran magician as well as Huntingburg resident and owner of the Old School Café, will present Magic with Style.

Strings, Inc., a non-profit arts organization dedicated to providing professional, personalized violin instruction, will be performing with advanced students and instructor Rafaela Schaick.

Comedian Gavin Eddings will perform.

Chloe Lueken, first runner-up at this year’s WBDC Country Showdown, will sing.

Dance Central Academy of Performing Arts, a studio providing instruction for jazz, theatre, tap, hip-hop, ballet, clogging, lyrical, and music, will also be performing as well as giving you a sneak peak of the upcoming theatrical performance of Elf Jr.

Hula hoop enthusiast Alex Hart will demonstrate her skills.

Actors Community Theatre, an area community theatre group, will make an appearance.

A Jasper Middle School student will debut an essay.

J.T.Thompson will show his humor and improvisational skills.

Peppermint Patty and Giggles will be dropping in.

Alexa Oser, who proudly uses dance as a form of therapy for her autism, will perform ballet.

Mike Kendall will be coming back to the Jasper Arts Center (he performed at the building’s opening in 1977). We are thrilled to have him back on stage to play the “Second Movement” of Time Traveler, a percussion/drum set solo.

Our Masters of Ceremony will be Kyle Rupert and Heath Kluemper. Kyle is the Jasper Community Arts Director and Heath sits on the Jasper Community Arts Special Events Committee and is a member of Actors Community Theatre.

Take part in a raffle for items from The Next Act, Jasper Public Library, Actors Community Theatre, and Jasper Community Arts. Doors open at 6 PM; the show starts at 7 PM.
