The Parklands opens!

The rock garden and balancing beams are a fun feature of The Parklands. There are four rock formations that can be climbed on as well as several large timber balancing beams located uphill from the splash pad in the new park. Donna Oeding and Parks Director Ken Buck stand near a plaque put in place to honor Mike “Otis” Oeding. Oeding served with Buck for more than 37 years and spent many hours working on The Parklands to develop it when it was first purchased by the city. Mayor Terry Seitz was joined by Parks Director Ken Buck and members of the Jasper Common Council and Park and Recreation Board to cut the ribbon on The Parklands.
