Jeep still in the mascot contest

The Northeast Dubois Fighting Jeeps are still in the running for a chance to win $2000 in the USA Today Best Mascot Invitational.

The school is currently in third place in the regional with over 2 million votes cast, while the first place school has over 4 million.

The contest was scheduled to end earlier this week but due to some website issues the sponsor of the contest decided to extent the round to next week.

Wow! When you all turn out to support your mascot, you can really bring the site to a crawl. Because we want to make sure that everyone who wants to vote can vote, we don’t want any technical difficulties to get in the way. So, the regional round of the USA TODAY High School Sports’ Best Mascot competition will resume Monday at 3 p.m. ET. Two additional days will be added to the regional round, which now ends at 3 p.m. ET Wednesday, March 20. The six finalists will advance to the national round, which begins at 11 a.m. ET Thursday, March 21, and ends at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 27.

The regional round will restart at 3 p.m. ET March 18 and end at 3 p.m. ET March 20.

The six winners then will compete in the national round, beginning at 11 a.m. ET March 21 and ending at 3 p.m. ET March 27.
