Sylvester “Wes” Rohleder, 79, of Jasper, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at home.

Wes was born in Ireland, Indiana, on March 15, 1936 to Daniel and Marie (Wehr) Rohleder. He married Linda Sermersheim on May 22, 1957 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

Wes was a 1954 graduate of Ireland High School.

He was the owner of Double-R-Bar in Jasper and retired from Sternberg’s 24 and More. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where he was an usher. He was also a member of the Jasper K of C, the Jasper Moose, and the Jasper German Club.

He enjoyed playing golf and Sheephead, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, IU basketball, and Indianapolis Colts fan.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Rohlelder of Jasper; two daughters, Tammy Werner of Jasper and Trayce Mehringer and her husband Pat of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Wesley and Noah Werner, Andrea (Werner) Phillips, and Benjamin, Neil, and Maria Mehringer; five great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; six sisters,
Betty Rohleder of Melbourne, Fla., Irma Friedman of Newburgh, Mary Bohnert of Newburgh, Aggie Kelly and her husband Brian of Orlando, Fla., Jeanie Weisman and her husband Richard of Jasper, Donna Taylor and her husband Lloyd of Highland Ranch, Colo.; three brothers, Maurice Rohleder of Carmel, Denis Rohleder and his wife Carolyn of Jasper, and Steve Rohleder, and his wife Mary of Huntingburg.

Preceding him in death are a son-in-law, David Werner; sister-n-law, Lois Rohleder; and a brother-in-law, Terry Friedman.

Funeral services for Sylvester “Wes” Rohleder will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

Friends may call from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Friday. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will pray a rosary at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
