Swearing-in ceremonies scheduled

Swearing in ceremonies for the newly elected officials in Jasper and Huntingburg will be held this week.

The City of Huntingburg will swear in Mayor Denny Spinner and council members Tim Wehr (At-Large), Glen Kissling (Precinct 1), Jeff Bounds (Precinct 2), Steve McPherron (Precinct 3) and Kerry Blessinger (Precinct 4).

The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 31st at the Old Town Hall, 309 N. Geiger Street in Huntingburg.

Jasper will hold its ceremony on Friday, Jan. 1st, at 3 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 610 Main Street.

Mayor Terry Seitz, Clerk-Treasurer Juanita Boehm and council members Nancy Eckerle (At-Large), Dean Vonderheide (At-Large), Greg Schnarr (District 2), John Bell (District 3), Dave Hurst (Distict 4), Earl Schmitt (District 5) and Kevin Manley (District 6) will be sworn in.

The public is invited to attend the ceremonies.

Ferdinand will swear in the returning council members, Debra Johnson, Ken Sicard, and Ron Weyer prior to the January 12th council meeting.
