Strassenfest Fireworks rescheduled

The Stassenfest Fireworks have been rescheduled for Saturday, September 1.

According to Strassenfest Committee Chairperson Meredith Voegerl the committee has received a preliminary approval to hold the event the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.

“We were dedicated to bring this event to the people of Jasper,” she said, “and we felt with the holiday weekend and the visitors for the Heartland Half-Marathon happening on Sunday (September 2) it would be a good weekend to hold the celebration.”

The Jasper Board of Public Works has to give the official approval and weather conditions will be taken into consideration as the date approaches. If the fireworks have to be postponed again, Voegerl stated the next proposed date is Veterans Day.
