Strassenfest 2025 opening night

Strassenfest 2025 opened Thursday with a ceremony steeped in the German roots of the city and wrapped in unusually cool weather for the typically dog days of summer.

Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide and Pfaffenweiler Mayor Lukas Mahler lit the ceremonial lantern together before offering brief remarks to begin the festival celebrating the two cities’ connections.
