Stop-the-MidStates-Corridor rally planned for this Saturday

A Stop the MidStates Corridor rally is planned for this Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Jasper Courthouse Square.

Event organizers have invited Gov. Eric Holcomb as well as the two candidates opposing him in this year’s election, Dr. Woody Myers (Democrat) and Donald Rainwater (Liberterian).

Dr. Myers will be attending from 10 to 11 a.m. Gov. Holcomb told organizers he was unable to make it and they are waiting to hear from Rainwater.

Additionally, representatives from the Indiana Forest Alliance and others wil be on hand to speak against the corridor.

Anyone attending is asked to wear masks and social distance around the Square. Bring your own water and snack if you want. T-shirts and yardsigns will be available for purchase.

The grassroots group hosting the event has more than 3,000 signatures opposing the project and will have petitions there to sign.
