Steven N. Goepfrich, 59

Steven N. Goepfrich, 59, of Celestine, passed away at 12:55 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, at home.

Steve was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on July 7, 1956, to Hilbert and Edna (Messmer) Goepfrich. He married Martha Sander on August 11, 1979, in St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine.

Steve worked for Merkley and Sons in Jasper for 28 years. He was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church, Celestine Community Club, and the Celestine Park. He enjoyed “The Pond”, storytelling, and karaoke.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Goepfrich of Celestine; two sons, Eric Goepfrich and his wife Tonya of Dale and Todd Goepfrich and his wife Kelly of Celestine; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Viola Sander of Celestine; four sisters, Judy Tretter and husband Urb of Huntingburg, Paul Goepfrich of Jasper, Allan Goepfrich and wife Peggy of Jasper and Mike Goepfrich and wife Alana of Jasper.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson, Kasen Goepfrich.

Funeral Services for Steve Goepfrich will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana, with burial to follow in St. Celestine Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Celestine Catholic Church, the Celestine Fire Department, or the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center.
