Steven J. Humbert, 61, Nashville

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven J. Humbert on June 2, 2022.

Steven J. Humbert was born on December 7 of 1960 in Jasper, Indiana to Robert and Elaine (Schmidt) Humbert.

Steve was a 1979 graduate of Jasper High School. He married Donna Schepers on October 18, 1986, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and a friend to all that he met. His easy smile, quick-witted jokes, the ability to fix or build anything, and the endearing soft spot he had for his daughters will be greatly missed. Steve had a deep love for all of his family, including his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Steve is survived by his wife, Donna, and two daughters, Ashley and Grace, all of Nashville; his mother, Elaine Humbert of Jasper; two brothers, Gene (Donna) Humbert of Jasper and Jason (Catherine) Humbert of Huntingburg; and one sister, Kristy (Larry) Fuesler of Huntingburg. Also surviving him are his mother-in-law, Jean Eck of Jasper and four brothers-in-law: Keith (Sally) Schepers, Jasper; Rick Schepers, Jasper; Glen (Charlotte) Schepers, Celestine; and Bruce (Jan) Schepers, Jasper.

Steve greatly enjoyed his Godchildren, U.S. Army Major Nathan Humbert and Benjamin Fuesler, as well as his other nephews and nieces: Cameron Fuesler, Brayden Humbert, Benjamin Schepers, Daniel Schepers, William Schepers, Jennifer Schepers, and Elizabeth Schepers. His love, care, and humor will be missed by all who knew him. 

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Humbert.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 4 to 8 p.m. CST at the Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee and from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Madison, Tennessee. The funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church.
