Steven A. Harris, 68

Steven A. Harris, 68, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:24 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born September 19, 1947 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Glenn and Alberta (Fisher) Harris. He married Cynthia L. Frick on June 1, 1968 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Mr. Harris worked 15 years as a coal miner in Illinois and worked 15 years with the City of Huntingburg where he recently retired. Steven enjoyed playing golf, washing cars, mowing the grass and watching Yankee’s baseball. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one sister, Glenda Turpin; and one brother, Jack Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia L. Harris of Huntingburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Joshua (Jennifer) Harris of Palm Harbor, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Nicole (Brian) DeKemper of Huntingburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim (Dolly) Harris of Huntingburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Shirley Satkamp of Ireland and Carolyn (Russ) Klee of Jasper; and four grandchildren, Maxwell and Dalton Harris, Noah and Sophia DeKemper.

Funeral services for Steven Harris will be held at 4:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with military rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail. Cremation will take place following the visitation and funeral service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, the day of the funeral.
