Steve K. Hunter, 65, Holland

Steve K. Hunter, 65, of Holland, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2016, at his residence.
He was born May 18, 1950, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Eugene and Alma (Hildebrand) Hunter.
Steve was self-employed and owner of Steve Hunter Trucking. He served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He was a member of the Zoar United Methodist Church, the Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366, and the Holland American Legion Post #343. For many years Steve participated as a player, manager and statistician in multiple area softball leagues; and was widely known for maintaining the statistics for the local baseball and softball teams. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants baseball team.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister who died in infancy, Suzanne Hunter.
He is survived by two brothers and two sister-in-laws, Jason (Betty) Hunter of Nashville, Tenn. and Robert (Charlotte) Hunter of Holland; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services for Steve Hunter will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016, at the Zoar United Methodist Church in Zoar, Indiana with burial to follow at the Zoar Cemetery. Pastor Keith Chanley will officiate at the funeral. Military graveside rites will be conducted by a combined American Legion Post #343 and V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and also at the Zoar United Methodist Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday morning. Memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity.
