Stephen M. Guthrie, 57

Stephen M. Guthrie, 57, of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Jasper, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, at Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Stephen was born on January 23, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to John and Judith (Burge) Guthrie.

He was a Navy Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Saratoga during the Gulf War.

He was employed by Shands Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

He enjoyed fishing and scuba diving and spending time with his dog Teddy

He is survived by his son, David Guthrie and his wife Kim, of Orange Park, Fla.; one grandchild, David Guthrie Jr.; mother, Judith Guthrie of Jasper; one brother, John M. Guthrie and his wife Lisa, of Jasper; one sister, Anne Berg and her husband Thomas, of Jasper.

Preceding him in death is his father, John Wallace Guthrie.

Funeral services for Stephen M. Guthrie will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Loogootee, Indiana. The Pastor Darrel Land will officiate. The Loogootee American Legion Post 120 will conduct military graveside rites

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the noon service time on Monday, September 8, 2014, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
