Stephen J. Fischer, 69, Huntingburg

Stephen J. Fischer, 69, of Huntingburg, passed away at 4:48 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

He was born February 18, 1952, in Huntingburg, to Christian and Mildred (Dearing) Fischer.

He married Judith A. (nee: Bloom) Harding on March 31, 1994, in Vincennes. 

Stephen was a member of Northside Christian Church in Huntingburg and worked as an over-the-road truck driver and mechanic. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gary Fischer.

He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Fischer of Huntingburg; one son, Chris (Tonia) Fischer; one daughter, Sherri (Chad) Neher of Huntingburg; three stepchildren, Lori (Gene) Williams of Monroe City, Sandy (Dan) Davis of Chesapeake, Virginia and Jeff Harding of Vincennes; seven siblings, Marlene (Paul) Ralph of Haubstadt, Paul Fischer of Huntingburg, Jim Fischer of Evansville, Mike Fischer of Milltown, Roger (Pat) Fischer of Huntingburg, Dan (Sheila) Fischer of French Lick and Gene Fischer of Huntingburg; and by eleven grandchildren, Hope, Abby, Maddie, Alex, Evie, Ellie, Michael, Billy, Jessica, Kristie and Kaitlyn.

Funeral services for Stephen J. Fischer will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT Monday, June 14, 2021, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Jason Rea will officiate the service.  

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Monday, the day of the service.
