Stella L. Hawkins, 82

Stella L. Hawkins, age 82, of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away at 7:00 a.m., Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born July 3, 1929 in Eckerty, Indiana to George and Celia (Jellison) Wright. Stella was a homemaker and a member of the Birdseye Christian Church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, John J. Hawkins, who died November 17, 1995; two daughters, Carol L. Daum and Thelma Hale; five sisters – Maggie Hackman, Hazel Conrad, Agnes McKim, Violet Tomes and June Smitley; four brothers – Clarence, Lloyd, Murl and Lee William Wright; two grandsons; and one great granddaughter.

She is survived by:

One son: Paul Hawkins – Ferdinand, IN

Two daughters: Debra Folsom – Washington, IN and Patricia Kepics – Birdseye, IN

And (15) grandchildren, (23) great grandchildren, and (3) great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Stella L. Hawkins will be held at 2:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time, on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Birdseye Christian Church in Birdseye with burial to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery. Pastor Ron Hickman will officiate.
