State Marching Band finals set for this weekend
Jasper Marching Wildcats, Forest Park Marching Rangers, and Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade advanced to state with top ten finishes at semistate this past weekend.
The Jasper Marching Wildcats made the top ten finishers at semistate competition Saturday at Pike High School in Indianapolis and secured a spot at the state finals this weekend in Class B.
Jasper will march against familiar rivals — Greenwood, Concord, Northview, and Plainfield — to try to pick up another first place finish as they did two years ago. Jasper’s program is called “Celtic Dances.”
The Forest Park Marching Rangers and Springs Valley Blackhawk Brigade also made it to the state finals by marching their way to top ten finishes Saturday at Franklin Community High School.
The Ranger’s are trying to three-peat with their program called “Aquatica” in Class D, as they have won the last two years in a row at the finals.
The finals are held at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday in Indianapolis.
Class D will be the first class to march on Saturday, beginning at 10 am. Springs Valley marches at 10:26 a.m. and Forest Park marches at 10:39 a.m. Then, in Class B, Jasper marches at 1:36 p.m.
