Starr L. Kieffner, 74, Haysville

Starr L. Kieffner, 74, of Haysville, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018, at home.

Starr was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on May 13, 1944, to Lee and Emadean (Schmeltekope) Broeker. She married Robert L. Kieffner on January 2, 1965, in Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.  He preceded her in death on February 20, 1990.

Starr retired from Kimball Electronics after many years of service. Previously she had also worked for Purdue Diagnostic Lab and the Huntingburg Airport.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville where she had served on the church council and in the Handbell Choir.

She enjoyed reading, watching wildlife from her front porch, and vacationing and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving is her daughter, Amanda Kluemper (Jim) of Jasper; four grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, Ryan, and Kyle Kluemper; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Raven Broeker (Cathi) of North Carolina; one niece and one nephew.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband.

Funeral Services for Starr L. Kieffner will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Haysville.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Dubois County Humane Society, St. Jude’s Hospital, or a favorite charity.
